Hi Friends
This email/post is a practical one. Just information on where to find us over the next few weeks and what we are up to. Unfortunately, we’ve been busy with production, holiday parties, events, etc., but I wanted to write to keep you updated on a few things.
I’m keeping this one short.
We are doing our last Mission Mercado, come say hi! Stock up on gorditas, salsas, hot sauce.
Ofrendas is happening. Jacob and I have been working super hard over the last few months to coordinate and organize this event. In short, Ofrendas is a series that will explore Mexican-ness and what cooking Mexican food means to various of our peers. For this first events, we are bring in Maricela Vega from Atlanta, Tony Ortiz from Brooklyn, and Luna Vela from Austin Texas. We are all making a dish that summarizes our approach to cooking Mexican food and that relates to the theme “Neither Here Nor There.” It is happing this Saturday 11/18, from 6-9pm. Come for as long as you want, dance a bit, have some food. It will be fun!
This has been an incredibly rewarding process so far. I’ve learned so much form al of these humans, and it is so much more than an exhibition of our food. It is a celebration of sharing culture and knowledge.
