To any new subscribers, welcome, Thanks for subscribing to the newsletter. Typically, my newsletters tend to have a bit more fluff than today, or sometimes a recipe, but I am all business today.
I was in Austin, Texas recently and wanted to share a few recommendations if you find yourself in Bat City. I had a lovely dinner and spent the day working at Nixta Taqueria. My friend Andrés Garza is the head of masa and special projects there, and he let me bother him all day and work on a special! (I really didn’t do much, I just peeled the broccoli stems, picked some flowers, and said some things). I also had an incredible selection of tacos at Cuantos Tacos. These were some of the best “street-style” tacos I have had in a long time.
Anyway, here’s what’s coming up in the next 2 weeks.

We will have Tostadas, Pozole, Sikil P’aak, Tetelas, Atole, and more. Admission is free, but food is for sale. Come say hi!!
